			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A lot of focus is being put on energy efficiency and going green&#8230; and that’s good.</p>
<p>On that note, I see a lot of hints and suggestions being posted on other websites but I haven’t seen much about rechargeable batteries. I know it’s not as exciting as posts about things like solar / hybrid cars, PV solar panels and other cool stuff, but it’s practical.</p>
<p>I’ve always been a fan of rechargeable batteries. If you spend the money up front you get way better (more powerful) batteries and when you look at the lifetime cost of ownership, they’re a whole lot cheaper! I like cheap.  :)</p>
<p>And if you like the idea of solar energy, you can get yourself a solar powered battery charger&#8230; that way you’re not “grid dependant”. Very modern.</p>
