Dinner last night was fantastic. Just a few friends and a home cooked meal. We sat around a beautiful table and talked about work, reality t.v., and a certain pop star with some serious issues. I doubt dinner around the coffee table would have been so memorable, probably because of the table height, and our innate messiness. So when you are considering a STAACH table think of all the memories that will happen around it, and how STAACH furniture is the embodiment of sustainability. I had a nasty experience with a table once. It was one of those cheap, plastic-topped jobs with the folding metal legs you lock in place with a little sliding clip on the struts. It was weighted down with materials to be stuffed in binders (I was assembling course readers; I know, the perils of academia!), and one side suddenly came crashing down, not two inches from my foot. Apparently the strut wasn’t quite locked.Now, if the school had been using the Strut Table from Blu Dot, instead of that awful collapsible thing, not only would this almost-disaster (and potential OSHA claim) have been completely averted, but they would have been right on the front lines of taste. (And the 90″ model would have been more than long enough for the purpose.)
