It doesn’t matter how many times you shower, or how hard you scrub with the loofah, you’ll still soil your bedding. It doesn’t mean you’re dirty; it just means you’re human. But some bedding is more delicate than others, so it’s worth investing in a removable, washable cover to protect your feather bed from oils and particles that could damage it over time. Then on laundry day, you wash just the cover, and you’re done.

Here’s the thing: the phrase “on cloud nine”" is just wrong. You’ve seen an airplane wing slice right through a cloud like it was nothing but air. Check out Raphael’s
Sistine Madonna:

Delicious desserts, and weight gain. A Lamborghini, and insurance premiums up the bazoo. Bookstores the size of Rhode Island, and choice paralysis. As Bret Michaels so eloquently put it, every rose has its thorn. Unless that rose is one of our down products: they’re lightweight, warm, fluffy, and hypoallergenic, and since the down is all harvested naturally, there’s no real, uh, downside for the birds either. That makes this cowboy’s song pretty darn happy.

I can’t look at the photo above without wanting to run to my bedroom and hug my own down comforter with both arms. Down comforters are so soft, so billowy, and (mine, anyway) cool to the touch, no matter how stuffy the room gets. It’s not for no reason they have “comfort”" in their name. My comforter is seriously my favorite purchase in the whole bedroom. In fact, I think I’ll go take a nap now.”
