The Hardoy Chair
Another fabulous design classic from the 1930’s. The Hardoy Chair (also known as the Butterfly or BKR chair) was designed by Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy in 1938 and originally produced by Knoll. You’ll notice that the original doesn’t have folding legs… they’re fixed and actually look much better because of it.
This is without a doubt the most widely copied piece of furniture ever (in my opinion) and one of the reasons that Knoll no longer produces these chairs. After losing their claim of copyright infringement, Knoll dropped the chair from its line in 1951.
This chair has won numerous design awards and while I don’t know where to find an original, you can find a decent knock off on ebay for about $250… leather. Not bad, even for an unlicensed reproduction.

This Hardoy Chair looks incredible! It makes an impression of a fragile one, but I am sure, it is not.

Yes, the original Hardoy chair is SOOOOO much better looking than the modern knock-offs. It’s all about the details, the proportions and quality… too bad they don’t make ‘em like they used to.

I agree with Angel & Pete but I think if it will be improve by more furnishing then it will be looks amazing !!
