Light Drop

No I’m not losing my mind, I’m talking about the revolutionary Light Drop by Brazilian designer Rafael Morgan.

Why revolutionary? Well because of what it stands for, the message behind it… that’s right, it’s not just a light but instead a light with a message.

“The Light Drop is supposed to make people think about how we are dealing with our natural resources, in this particular case, the water, which is the main source of energy for every living organism in this fantastic world. Water is energy indeed.

I really hope that people really get my message….”

We all know the importance of conservation but I can’t recall seeing a single lamp or light that made me think about both energy conservation and water conservation at once. A fantastic idea, powerful message and a gorgeous design… a hat trick for design.

PS: As of my writing this, the Light Drop is not currently in production. Rafael is seeking people who might be able to help him put this product to market so if you’re interested just send him an email (or send me one and I’ll pass it on to him).

You can visit Rafael’s website (the link is in the text above) and send him an email to see if he’s managed to get a manufacturer to produce it.

I agree, this is a fantastic design!
