Euphorbia Trigona

Cactus

This cactus isn’t really a cactus; it’s a succulent. This plant is native to tropical parts of south and western Africa. It has very well defined lines and a beautiful green colour, making it perfect for almost all interiors and can even stand on it’s own as a sculpture.

Also known as the “African milk tree” this plant requires sunlight and like cactus, make sure the soil is thoroughly dry between watering. Just so you know, don’t try to drink the “milk”, it’s poisonous and can induce allergic reactions.

Beside these facts, it’s said to bring good luck and is often given as a gift (to bring good fortune to the new owner)… but in either case, it’s a nice looking plant and this alone is enough to make it onto my shopping list.

I’ve been reading your blog quite a bit lately (it’s great by the way) but every time I start to leave a comment something (screaming baby, or wife) interupts me!

Although targeted for the South African market it seems that also North Americans are reading our blogs; especially the second one with basic succulent cultivation knowledge and links to relevant Internet sites.
