Let there be Shade
Ever feel like there’s something missing from your decor? How about that feeling that you’d like to change something but don’t know what? Have you ever considered new window treatments? It can be a quick and even cheap (maybe a local discount blinds store?) way to change the look of your room or apartment. The best part, it doesn’t have to be a permanent thing so you can just change them again when you get bored.
Recently I got pretty fed up with my curtains and decided to toss ‘em… without finding a replacement first.
This lead to a new problem, what to cover the windows with? I’m not too put off on the naked windows, I kind of like it but others don’t seem so comfortable with it… so I decided to look for some sort of blinds or panel curtains, I want a more modern look. One of the websites I found, just a simple window blinds guide, pretty much sums up what you can get… lots of options. My other source of inspiration, Ikea.

This reminds me of when I moved into my last house. It had a plate glass front window and was on a corner. The little old lady’s moldy drapes were ripped out, leaving us completely exposed at night. The cheap and fast solution until the drapes went up were the ginormous post-it notes. They are presentation size so may not be available without special order (I stole mine from work…) or via the internet. I put them up at night like a cafe curtain and since they were white, it looked like one from the street. Weird yes, but a great quick and cheap solution.

That’s not a bad idea Jenn… and the best part is the easy (and fast) placement/removal.
